OPENING
A meeting of the Ocean Grove Community Association (OGCA) was held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 in the Camp Meeting Community Room, 28 Pilgrim Pathway, Ocean Grove. The meeting was called to order by OGCA President Joyce Klein at 10:02 am. The Pledge of Allegiance was followed by recognition of special guests and announcements.
- Joyce informed the group that the Neptune Board of Education’s budget meeting will be held on April 29 at 7 pm at the high school. All are encouraged to attend. The Township website has the proposed 2026 school budget posted.
- She reported that there are 30 non-native NJ invasive plants which will not be available for purchase after 2030. The list will be posted on OGCA website.
- She made a plea for residents to go to Neptune Township to request enforcement of putting trash in containers, particularly now that the summer rental season is approaching
- Joyce again reminded everyone that the OGCA website has a very comprehensive and invaluable calendar that lists almost every upcoming event in Ocean Grove – The OGCA Calendar
- Finally we learned that Ted David at the Historical Society is putting together a new book on Ocean Grove that will be collection of Ocean Grove residents’ personal stories on life in the Grove. If you have any submissions, please contact Ted at YourOceanGrove@gmail.com.
GUEST SPEAKERS
Denise Sherman-Pula, Realtor with Jack Green, and Janet Manni, Office Manager and Realtor with ReMax, discussed in great detail the state of the real estate market in Ocean Grove. They presented information on current home sales, selling times, and asking price vs selling price vs assessed value. They talked about the best time of the year to sell a home. They also discussed the things that make Ocean Grove an appealing market (as well as some of its disadvantages.) Many questions followed. The data in their report will be posted on the OGCA website..
BUSINESS MEETING
Committee Reports
- Giving Committee chair Paul Kaplan reported on their upcoming campaigns: in May – eyeglasses, and in June – diapers.
- Membership Committee chair Robert Ignato advised that planning for the August 30 OGCA Block Party is proceeding well. He also informed our members that a collaborative group of Ocean Grove organizations is developing a welcome package to be given to new residents to Ocean Grove. It is targeted to be ready in the Fall.
