OPENING
A meeting of the OGCA was held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 10 am at the Camp Meeting Association Community Room, 28 Pilgrim Pathway, Ocean Grove.
The meeting was called to order by OGCA President Joyce Klein at 10:03am. The Pledge of Allegiance was followed by announcements:
- The OGCA CPR training class to be held on 09/27 requires pre-registration. Go to the OGCA Bulletin Board for more information.
- Joyce discussed the agreement between the CMA and Neptune Township on which parks will be maintained by whom.
GUEST SPEAKER
Our guest speaker was OG Notable Neighbor Chris George, Co-Producer and Unit Production Manager for the TV show “Only Murders in the Building”. Chris provided a review of his background and his involvement in the entertainment industry over the past 30 years. He described his role as a production manager and provided many details of what is entailed to get a show to TV. Many questions followed.
BUSINESS MEETING
There was an election for one three-year position on the OGCA Board of Trustees: current trustee Leah Ross was nominated and re-elected by vote of acclimation.
Committee Reports:
- Giving Committee – Chair Paul Kaplan reviewed the current campaign in progress and that which will be undertaken in August. For information and to volunteer, please go to the OGCA website.
- Preservation Committee – Chair Ron Goldfaden provided a slide presentation illustrating the huge strides made in reducing the number of homes in Ocean Grove characterized as needing significant rehabilitation (from 27 to 4). The Committee will continue its efforts.
- Membership Committee – Chair Robert Ignato reported that an OGCA shuffleboard social event will be held on August 7. In addition, a survey to determine topics/issues of interest of the entire community will be sent out in about 7-10 days.
- Green Committee – Chair Philip Orton provided a brief update, mentioning issues with trash collection.
- Legal Affairs Committee – Chair Barbara Burns Barbara Burns provided an update on the current Beach Access litigation. The beach will remain open on Sunday mornings for this summer.
