Preservation Committee

Purpose

To mitigate the presence of vacant, abandoned, dilapidated, hazardous, and poorly maintained properties in Ocean Grove, thereby reducing potential dangers, fire risks, trespassing, pest infestations, and decreased property values for neighboring homeowners.

Committee Objectives

Annual Property Survey – Conduct a comprehensive survey of all properties in Ocean Grove on an annual basis.

Reporting Violations – Notify Neptune Township’s Code and Enforcement Department of abandoned, vacant, and dilapidated properties and request inspections.

Violation Tracking – Monitor properties receiving notices of violation from the township.

Follow-up and Enforcement – Ensure violations are addressed through follow-up with the township.

Property Monitoring – Identify properties requiring observation for potential dilapidation or hazards.

Court Case Tracking – Collaborate with the Neptune Township Attorney to track properties in court for Code and Enforcement violations.

Progress Reports – Provide regular updates to the Ocean Grove Homeowners Association membership.

Home Repair Support – Promote and facilitate access to grants, non-profits, and charitable programs (e.g., World Changers) offering home repair assistance.
