Curious about how climate change and floods are affecting New Jersey and Ocean Grove? At our May 23rd Meeting, guest speaker Dr. Philip Orton (resident of Ocean Grove) gave a great presentation that addressed many of these issues.
Philip is our own resident expert on our risks from storm surges and flooding. He is a Research Associate Professor of ocean engineering at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. He earned his PhD in physical oceanography from Columbia University in 2010, and specializes in coastal physical oceanography, storm surges and flood forecasting and risk assessment.
